EUFGIS: Activities

Establishment of a European
information system on forest genetic resources

EUFGIS project was financially supported by the European Commission under Council Regulation (EC) 870/2004.

The project activities are organized in five work packages, as per original project proposal:

Work package 1 - Creation of a network of national FGR inventories
Work package 2 - Development of minimum requirements and information standards for dynamic gene conservation units
Work package 3 - Creation of the information infrastructure
Work package 4 - Building the information system
Work package 5 - Coordination

The EUFGIS project is coordinated by Bioversity International.
Bioversity is the operating name of the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI)
and the International Network for Improvement of Banana and Plantain (INIBAP).
